Thirsk School and Sixth Form is celebrating 62 glorious years with a grand reunion event for school alumni, staff and local businesses.
Date: Saturday 15 June 2019
Time: 12:30pm - 1:30 pm
Location: Thirsk School & Sixth Form College, Topcliffe Road, Sowerby, Thirsk, YO7 1RZ
Local businesses are invited along between 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm to network and meet with staff and other businesses including the T&DBA who support the school and are welcome to stay and enjoy
The Thirsk Coworking Group is a popular FREE informal coworking event for freelancers, small business owners, homeworkers and those who are otherwise self-employed. Those attending are free to bring their laptops and paperwork etc and enjoy working alongside others, collaborating, chatting and so on. Sessions such as these are great for accountability (getting that piece of work done that you procrastinate over at home/the office), sharing experiences, offering advice and support as appropriate and working alongside like-minded individuals.

Thirsk independent traders have collaborated to create a their very own ‘Christmas in Thirsk’ video on social media, a spoof of the Visa UK Christmas advert, featuring local shopkeepers singing along to the Mariah Carey song ‘All I Want For Christmas is You’. The commercial is a rallying cry to the community to shop local in the run up to Christmas.

We held our first breakfast networking on 17th May at the Golden Fleece.
There was a great turnout with 20 businesses coming for some networking (and bacon & sausage butties!)
The room was full of people catching up and meeting new faces in a relaxed atmosphere - exactly what networking should be about!

Over 100 business people from Thirsk and the surrounding area attended the launch of Thirsk & District Business Association’s new website and membership scheme on Thursday 22nd March.
